BSNL enables VoWiFi service to its subscribers in India
Alok Adholeya, CMD, BSNL said, “We have now launched VoWiFi for all our subscribers in India. We believe this will improve their connectivity, especially when they are indoors and are in low network coverage areas.”
BSNL had launched VoWiFi for its customers in selected telecom circles of West and South zone towards the end of 2025 as part of its network modernization initiative. The telco has now extended the service to the entire country in a major push to its network modernization efforts.
BSNL Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi) will be available to users in the whole nation. The VoWiFi can be enabled on the smartphones of BSNL customers by visiting the Wi-Fi Calling section in the Settings of the smartphone.
The telecom company is further modernizing its network and infrastructure by using VoWiFi technology to help improve voice quality for users on its network. The key to this will be the faster adoption of VoWiFi which can also help reduce network congestion as well as make voice calls more stable, while also helping the operator compete with other major telecom players in the country.
