January 2026 Smartphone Launches: OnePlus turbo 6, Honor power 2, Realme 16 pro and more set to debut

January 2026 is already looking to be an exciting month for smartphone enthusiasts worldwide with three popular device launches already confirmed by OnePlus, Honor and Realme. Big batteries, high-end performance and camera-heavy features abound, so let’s take a closer look at what these companies are bringing next month.

OnePlus Turbo 6 Series – Power and Performance (January 8 Launch)

OnePlus has officially confirmed the OnePlus Turbo 6 series – which includes both the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Turbo 6V models – will be launched in China on January 8, 2026. Leaks also suggest both of these phones will be equipped with massive 9,000 mAh batteries which can provide long periods of battery life even when both phones are being pushed to their limits.

For performance, the OnePlus Turbo 6 flagship is expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset alongside up to 16 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage. The phone’s 6.78-inch display will likely come with a 165 Hz refresh rate to ensure smooth visuals.

On the other hand, the OnePlus Turbo 6V is expected to be slightly more mid-ranged, sporting the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and a 144 Hz display, though both devices are still expected to include the same large batteries and robust core specifications. Both of these devices are also likely to support 80 W wired charging, with reverse charging also a possibility.

Early design leaks and live images from both devices show they may feature a flat display and square camera module in keeping with OnePlus’ design language. Both of the devices are also expected to come in multiple color variants.

Honor Power 2 – Hyper-Battery Focus (January 5 Launch)

For users who are after the longest battery life possible in a phone, the Honor Power 2 looks to be a phone to keep a close eye on for early 2026. This phone will launch in China on January 5, 2026, and has an astounding 10,080 mAh battery capacity, which is one of the largest batteries seen on a smartphone to date.

Leaks and rumored specifications for this device also point to a MediaTek chipset, a large flat display and a camera system with a 50 MP primary camera. Fast charging support is also likely which can help keep that giant battery under control. Honor has set this phone up as a mobile powerhouse for heavy users who don’t like to plug in frequently.

Realme 16 Pro Series – Balanced Power Meets Strong Cameras (January 6 Launch)

Completing this January trifecta, Realme is also planning to launch the Realme 16 Pro series on January 6, 2026, in India. Packing the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max 5G chipset, the company seems to be aiming for a balanced combination of strong performance, buttery-smooth 120 Hz displays and long battery life.

Realme 16 Pro devices are expected to come with up to 7,000 mAh batteries and an emphasis on camera capabilities, with the primary cameras in these phones rumored to have 200 MP sensors.

Taken together, these launches represent an industry move towards longer battery life, more intelligent performance scaling and higher refresh rate displays, even on devices that are outside of flagship smartphone categories. There is something for power users, mobile gamers and photo enthusiasts, with January 2026 looking to offer devices that outclass many phones currently available.
