IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Bihar’s Patna Airport After Technical Snag

New Delhi: A Delhi-bound Indigo flight 6E 2433 made an emergency landing at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Bihar’s Patna on Friday morning after it developed a technical snag, news agency ANI reported. As per the airport officials, the IndiGo flight – 6E 2433 bound for Delhi made an emergency landing at Patna airport at 9:11 AM after reporting an inoperative engine. At present, all operations are normal at the airport.

“Indigo flight 6E 2433 to Delhi, three minutes after departure reported one engine inoperative. The aircraft landed safely at 0911 hours. All operations are normal at the airport,” Director, Patna Airport was quoted as saying to news agency ANI.

Technical Snag And Past Incidents

  • This is not the first time, a flight had to make an emergency landing due to technical snag. Earlier in July, a full emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram airport after a Sharjah-bound Air India Express flight from Tiruchirapalli made an emergency landing due to a technical snag.
  • Once again, ‘Emergency landing” made into the news headline when a training aircraft made an emergency landing with its nose in an upward position at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport after developing a technical snag.
  • In June, a Dibrugarh-bound IndiGo flight with Union Minister Rameshwar Teli on board experienced some mechanical issues. They had to make an emergency landing at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in Guwahati’s Borjhar.
  • Due to inclement weather caused by Western disturbance, two army helicopters had to make an emergency landing in May on a ‘kutcha’ road at Khara village in Bikaner, IANS reported.
  • A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu carrying 77 passengers on board had to make an emergency landing at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna after developing a technical glitch.
